About Etz Chai
Etz Chai—“Tree of Life”—is a sacred space of restoration, rooted in the teachings of Messianic Judaism and cultivated through the heart and hands of Deaf author and poet Michael Clegg. This site is a garden of musings, where Scripture, sign language, and storytelling intertwine. Through poetry, reflections, and visual expression, Clegg invites readers on a journey from thorns into the garden—a movement from pain to purpose, silence to song, exile to covenant. Inspired by the living Torah, Etz Chai seeks to make God’s Word accessible to all, especially within the Deaf community and to those who feel voiceless or forgotten.
